Well, here it is August, and there hasn't been a meet in Chicago since what - November of 2009? If anyone is interested in meeting in Chicago towards the end of August or anytime in September, please voice your opinion here. I had a lot of fun at the last meet ( a looong time ago ) and would like to do it again.
I was thinking that we could meet somewhere in the loop, or on the Northside, as it seems that everyone here on RFF apparently lives in the North. We could meet at a nice, quiet bar ( there are plenty on the Northside that aren't sports/Irish bars ) and have a cold one to escape the summer heat and relax for a spell. Or not. I'm open for suggestions. The only caveat I have is that we meet somewhere in the city - those of us who live in the city find it difficult to travel without access to public transportation. No cut against the suburbs, just the reality of logistics ( and a bit of personal bias, I'll admit - but Suburbanites should not take it personally... ).
So PLEASE air your thoughts in this thread, and maybe we'll all be able to get together at least once this year.

I like the idea of a meet in early sept. How about Lincoln square around Sept. 10-12 - those are the running dates for the German American Fest, and should afford good shooting opportunities.

The Chicago group is really tight, 75% of the people who attended the last get together where there on Sunday. RD couldn't make it due to a bad wheel.
Art, philosophy, life and gear were discussed, not necessarily in that order
We sat a Cafe Sel Marie for a while, talked shop, and then worked the cameras, taking some shots at the local German-American festival.
