late Kiev 4 self timer insert ?

Many later Kiev 4 with the self timer and plastic insert have the screw visible - no '' leather '' insert .
Does anyone know if the screw was covered on all cameras ?
I ask 'cos my mint / boxed UK sourced Kiev 4a has the screw showing with no sign of residual adhesive etc ,

I don't know whether they all had one but my 4A bought new in the UK has one. The small leatherette patch has fallen off other Kievs I have, without leaving any obvious sign of glue. I expect that the leatherette had a self adhesive backing.

Mine is a 1978 model according to the serial number, although I can't remember exactly when I bought it. It was at the time when they were being discontinued in the UK, so it was quite cheap, I recall. I had to send it back to TO&E to have a light leak fixed.
