Late serial M6 TTL - brass top plates?

Interesting, Roland ! I always thought that the later M4-P with zinc-top plate, only one sync-port also had the new (smaller) 35 and 50 frame-line masks being afterwards used in the M6 and subsequent models ?

Was surprised myself, Gabor, when I received this camera (my second M4P - my first one has brass top / recessed window). This one definitely has a zinc top plate , flush viewfinder window, but the classic framelines (which I love).

There is only one way to find out what type of metal is hiding underneath that finish... Use the M6 till is rubs off. In my case, the paint is coming off alarmingly fast and revealing the zinc. Not that I really care.

Brass needs to be nickel plated before it is chrome plated/black chrome plated.

I have an M6TTL with a script on top and it is most definitely not printed on. It's engraved.

Of course, I have no idea if it was a custom request or what.
