Anyone interested in a late summer, early Fall meetup. How does September 4 or September 11 look?

We could do a Philly meet or instead do something different like Longwood Gardens, Eastern State Penitentiary, or Chanticleer. Any thoughts or suggestions? I would be glad to transport any folks in Philly without cars to Longwood or Chanticleer, both of which are beautiful this time of year. I'm sure our other regulars would also be glad to help on the transportation front.

Feel free to suggest alternative photo ops.

Labor day weekend, besides heralding the return of Jerry Lewis to the MDA telethon, offersa fee options: Saturday Sept 3 Whyy is hosting a free music festival at penns landing, and on Monday Sept 5th there's a great car show and horse show at ludwig's corner (rt 100 and rt 401 in Chester county.)

It's been years since I was at Longwood. Keep in mind that tickets are $18. A long way from when I had a season pass for $35 years ago.

I'll go where the group decides, and am available both weekends.

Jim, Ben and Al:

Al, you're right, Longwood might be a bit pricy, but Chanticleer is only $5, and as Jim pointed out there are a number of photo ops in Philly on the 4th. The 4th works well for me. If that's the case for you guys lets shoot for that Sunday. Let's hope we get some more input from others.

The 4th is good for me.

Longwood gardens is nice, but a LONG ways away, I would prefer closer. But I will defer to group opinion (how very unlike me).

If Longwood is the target I would suggest sharing a zipcar.

Randy

I am not endorsing Longwood, and would be just as content to stay in the city on the 4th. There are some interesting events Jim pointed out taking place at Penn's Landing. That would more than suit me. If someone is interested in Chanticleer, we could do that as well, although that is out in the burbs, and would require transportation from Septa.

Rance:

We have a good mix of folk who do get together somewhat regularly. We'll look forward to meeting you. I'll be posting the location and time shortly.

Given the options and the input to date, let's plan on meeting at our old spot, The Irish Pub, and then moving on to Penn's Landing, weather permitting. Here's the details:

Date: 09/04/2011

Time: 1:00 PM

Location: The Irish Pub, 12th and Walnut, Philadelphia

To find us just walk in past the bar, we generally meet against the far right wall past the bar as you are walking into pub. You can't miss us. It'll be the table with old photo equipment.

See everyone there! I'll post some reminders as we get closer. I'll also alert Nick and John. Hopefully, Al, Ben, Randy, Jim and our other regulars can make it.

They're predicting rain for the 4th, so everyone attending might want to bring an umbrella or rain gear. I'll be there with the Rolleiflex and the Primo Jr.

Jim, the cat show sounds good if we have rain. I'm definitely a cat lover. I have two; I started our popular cat thread here. So if its rain, I'm definitely up for it. I'm make sure I bring a fair bit of film.

I assume we still meet initially at the Irish Pub?
