"Here Far away" by Pentti Sammallahti.
Bill Brandt, "Shadow and Light" MOMA publication. Disappointing print quality, about 80% of the photos are well printed and the rest are grey and have a powdery feel to them. Definitely some poor quality control at the printers.

Not sure if it's expanded as I don't have the original. When it came out I gave it a miss because it's so explicit and unromantic but I thought I'd give it another chance. Still can't make my mind up though.I have to check out that Friedlander. Is it an expanded version of the original Nudes?
Thanks for the tip. I bought the New Topographics reprint a little while ago and it's very well reproduced with an excellent introduction. The King Survey book is great too. If you are into that sort of thing you might like a book I just got this week... Westward the course of Empire, by Mark Ruwedel. Photographs of old railroad cuts and grades. It recalls those 19th century survey photographs, the New Topographics photographers and maybe even a bit of Robert Smithson and the earth art movement of the 60's and 70's.
