Lee Friedlander's "Street: The Human Clay". Honestly, these types of photos generally do nothing for me. Yet there are some real gems here. Even if you're usually bored by photos of anonymous people walking by on the sidewalk, this is worth a look.
Ernst Haas's "Color Correction". The newly published second edition. Lots of abstractions, reminiscent of Aaron Siskind but in color. Beautifully reproduced. One of my favorite recent books.
William Eggleston's "The Democratic Forest, Selected Works". I have the 1989 original "Democratic Forest" and this new edition from Steidl has much better reproductions. However, the new book doesn't contain all the photos from that original Doubleday publication (let alone the multi-volume recent edition). Still the quality of the printing makes this a must have for the Eggleston enthusiast.
Josef Koudelka's "Exiles". I'm trying to make up for a sadly under represented Koudelka section of my library. This is one of his classics.
