Latter-day Agfa and related films

So it's been pretty well-established from my reading that the Agfa Vista that you can buy nowadays is an Italian-made film that is generally inferior to the old stuff, and that APX etc. are no longer available new. So what's going on with this eBay seller? Among the various films for sale is APX with 2010 expiration dates. Is this the tail-end of old stock, or is something else going on?

While I'm at it, what's up with the Perutz film they're selling? There's some old references to it being OEM Agfa, but is this still true? It's cheap, but I'm worried about it turning out to be a brick of Lucky or something similarly gross.

Tail-end of old stock is probably right. I have some Leverkusen APX400 in the fridge with 2011 expiration dates. This has been available as clearance at Hunt's (Melrose location) for quite a while. $4 per 36 exposure roll. Might all be gone now, I was last there 2 months ago.

I'm well stocked with APX100 and some APX400 that I bought fresh from macodirekt.de by the name Rollei Retro. Expiration date is 2011. It's a screaming deal €1,49 per 36 exp. roll.

I personally wouldn't trust that Rollei Retro is the same as genuine Made in Germany Agfa. For a while they were using up leftover Agfa stock but now they're switching to a polyester-based film. Real Agfa is still available from Ultrafineonline.com in original bulk rolls, which they also spool into private label cartridges.

Fotoimpex Berlin is planning a APX100 and 400 revival under the Adox name, once the old Agfa stock is sold out. Same formula, produced by the same people on the same machines. That's what they claim, but they've been saying this for a while now.

Going by what their reps stated on some German forums, that is still APX - they are through with their plain old APX master rolls, but still have APX on Estar substrate - different base, for tech applications, but the same coating.

The company that has the lease of the Agfa consumer trade mark still sells 135 APX 100 and 400 on acetate here in Germany, too, and the boxes at the local drug store are eleven months off expiration right now - don't know whether that will be their last batch...
