Howdy folks,
I've had my X Pro 1 nearly 4 months now, and am beginning to see some very small spots in the coatings on the LCD screen. Not sure what kind of wear has caused this, but I want to protect it from getting worse. I was set to order the Giottos Schott glass 3" protector, but saw several customer reviews stating it had very quickly cracked or broken on their X Pro 1s. Has anyone had any experience with protectors, and would you care to share any recommendations? Thanks.

Buzz - I have these glass LCD protectors on both my Nikon DSLR's and on both my Sony Nex's - not a single problem so far over several years (touch wood). Unless Xpro's are somehow different I wouldn't worry - some people are more accident prone than others IMO

I have a 3" GGS "glass" protector on my X100, for 1,5 years now.
No problems at all.

Thanks, Shac
I figured it was likely "operator error," but was concerned that all the breakage comments coincidentally also happened to be X Pro owners.

OlliL-
I've seen quite a few positive comments on the GGS model elsewhere, so I'll be looking into those, as we'll. Thanks.

I have GGS on all of my digital cameras. Most other brands are junk.

As an update, FWIW. I ordered the Giottos soon after my original post and resulting conversation. Within a month, I have chipped and cracked a lower corner. I'm pretty sure that it happened when I hung the camera by the strap on the back of a chair at a restaurant. I figure when scooting the chair in or out it swung and bumped into a chair leg right on the edge of the screen and, voilà! Otherwise, have been very happy with it...
