With the 100th running of the Tour de France underway I thought it would be appropriate to link to Robert Capa's photos of the 1935 Tour. I was unaware of this set until this morning, discovering it as I browsed through Magnum's "Photographers" section.

Interestingly, Magnum may have mislabeled this photo set. In two of the photos the year 1939 is seen on license plates. So, either 1935 and 1939 photos in one set, or...these photos are from the last year of the Tour prior to the outbreak of WWII.

What a grueling event that Tour de France is.
