Leaky brick, part deux

So why bother fixing it? It's not worth your time and effort.

I don't know if you realize this or not but it is something that I have noticed from your posting at RFF: consciously or unconsciously, you place unnecessary impediments in your path and invent unwarranted diversions, to keep you from being successful in posting pictures at RFF that you are proud of. Please forgive me from being blunt: I think it may come from a fear of failure. Steph, you have great, classic equipment. Use it to create some great images. You are passionate about photography. You will be successful.

You can go ahead now and roll your eyes, just like my daughter does when I try and give her advice. 🙂

Just wish I knew someone who could borrow me a Voigt 25/4 for a week.

Focus on what you do have, not on what you don't. Don't let the fact that you don't have a 25mm lens keep you from using the 35, 50, and 85mm lenses that you do have, and making great images with them.

I know, I know. I don't roll my eyes at you ever, honest.

My large collection of usable camera is down from about 12 to four. Two 35mm and two medium format, all suited to different photographic wants and needs. The M2 I'm planning on buying next year will round out a very nice interchangable lens kit for me to keep for the rest of my life.

I think that, once in a while, I get so caught up because I just want to get "the best". My thoughts on what is "the best" are constantly in flux from one day to the next. I know the equipment I have is great.

So yeah, setting me straight on occasion isn't so bad, is it? 😀

Stephanie- do you have a case for your brick? Have you opened the camera and watched the action of the leaf shutter through cocking and firing? Maybe one leaf is hanging up. I still suspect a leak at the latch or it's rivets. I have a brick case you can have for the cost of postage. My brick's rangefinder is not functional and I use it for shelf decoration and as a tack hammer. I'll likely never get around to trying to repair it...

Frank, you probably are never really wrong... it's just too early in the morning to be 100% fully supportive. This is the part of the day when all the bosses and peons pass by my desk trying to drop their work on me. So I'm predisposed to being a bit less than cooperative before 9AM. 🙂
