I've getting a Contax IIa, and I'd like to get a leather case for it. The examples I've seen on e-bay as going for ~$50.00 for ratty-looking examples. I compared the Contax (for size) to my Kiev 4AM, and it's not even close. Would a modern Leica half-case do the job if there are no reasonably-priced Contax cases in good condition to be had?
Thank you to all who reply.

I bought a nice new one from Japan Camera Hunter.
I have two original Zeiss ones, but the straps are unsafe, and I don't like putting straps on the camera lugs. So I went for a new one from Japan.

IIa case
IIa case
:bang: Bought one for what I thought was a good price, but...
Turns out the IIa I have has a 1/4-20 hole and the case has the larger 3/8 screw.
Can't figure how to change either without messing something up!
Suggestions? Trades?
PM me.

I got a nice Hirano cases from Japan Exposures (http://www.japanexposures.com/shop/camera-bag-case-strap/hand-made-leather-camera-case-for-contax-cameras.html) because they seem to be the only option if you need a case w/its own strap lugs, but they're probably out of your price range.

If you look at the 1/4-20 hole of the IIa you will see a set screw around it.
Remove this set screw then unscrew the 1/4-20 bolt.
Then you will have a 3/8 screw hole in the bottom of your camera.

I'll try that right after work!!!
I knew it had to be pilot error, the Zeiss guys were too good. Every time I hold my folding Contess I'm amazed!

Tiny set-screw solved the problem! Now I have a bushing for the next time one is needed!
