Does anyone have a lead on a leather half-case for my GSN? The factory case has decent coverage but I'd like something that might be a little more current looking (i.e. maybe better stitching, smooth leather, etc) and also that would ditch the knob at the base so it can still be set down without toppling.

Nobody has a lead? I want to protect it for everyday use when walking around.

There are two kinds of cases for these. The latter type is an imitation leather with a rough texture. The earlier Yashica Electro cameras came with a genuine leather case with a shiny, black finish. It sounds like the earlier case is what you are looking for.

If you are looking for a so called half case.
Send Ebay seller "Mr Zhou" a message.
He makes half cases for a variety of cameras.
One of his existing half cases may fit closely enough for the electro.
He has cases for the Zeiss Ikon and Voigtlander R series as well as Leica M's and Konica Hexar/AF.
I don't know, maybe he has a pattern for the Electros as well.
I had an exchange with him a few years ago. Good guy. Quite responsive.
I used his cases on an M8 as well as Zeiss Ikon in the past. They are actually quite nice and priced right at under $75.
The Original Older "solid" leather case frontman describes above is also a good option although, it does have the screw button on the bottom to attach to the tripod mount.
Usually plenty of those on eBay. Jus hope for one that is not too smelly.

Have you shopped for a custom case/cover on www.etsy.com by chance? I see them for other bodies on occasion.

I did in fact send him a message and he got back to me. No case for my Yashica yet but he said he will look at the dimensions and let me know if it is possible. Thanks.

My wife cruised through there for quite a while and didn't seen something that works for me. Thanks for the tip though.
