Hey guys, so my CLE stopped showing the LEDs in the VF yesterday. It still fires and i swapped in some new batteries just in case...but it's not displaying the shutter speed still. Any ideas? Thanks!

Well, that isn't quite the symptom I've seen for this problem, but there is a periodic need to clean the electric contacts under the shutter speed dial, as that area collects lint and dust. I would take it to any decent camera technician, it's not a specialist job. The symptoms I've noticed for this is a random flickering of the diodes. Might be the same as your problem, or perhaps not...

Not to be condescending but rather to cover all bases firstly is the camera on A (Auto)? Im sure you probably know it doesnt light up in Manual but it needs to be mentioned on the off chance. If its still not displaying while on Auto, is the camera firing at different speeds? Like can you hear the shutter firing quickly when you point it at a light source and then you hear it slow considerably when you block light going to the lens? This is to determine if its just the display or a more serious circuit failure. Be sure to rapidly rotate the shutter dial back and forth just to be sure that the contacts underneath are getting a bit of a workout. Also trigger the self timer and see if it flashes and also triggers the shutter after the required 10 seconds. One other thing you may try is be sure that your getting sufficient contact on the unique Minolta sensor touch button. Lick your finger just to be sure. Try those things and let us know and we can see where we go from there.

Thanks so much for your help guys! Strangely, when i got up this morning it mysteriously started working again (intermittent probs are the worst -_-) so i'll keep your advice/tips in mind in case it happens again. Thank you!
