Has anyone tried this filter system on the R-D1? I use an ND8 a lot on my camera and think the Lee system would be more flexible and easier to use then the screw in filters I use now.

I use a CV 28m Ultron (1.9 version) exclusively, but I'm a little concerned about finder blockage.

I was looking at this recently, but boy are they pricey!

I recently bought some cheap square filters from Fotobestway, a knock off of the Cokin square filters. I got these as I needed some sort of graduated ND for landscape shots but didn't want to blow the bank. I got the P size. Massive finder blockage, the VF was completely blocked so I had to use a hotshoe mounted VF. Also had quite a fair bit of colour shifting towards magenta, but this was with 3 stacked filters. So definitely don't get the P sized models :)

I also use the variable ND filter from Inca, which has 2-8 stops of light blockage. Works very, very well even with my 21mm ZM. ! Recommend you try one if all you need is regular ND.

Interesting, I was looking at variable ND filters but my admittedly brief research led me to believe they could produce uneven exposure on a stills camera so I gave up. I'm pretty much used to an ND8, it seems about the right amount for most situations where I like to use an ND.

Hopefully the RF75 filter holder doesn't block the VF like the P size.
