Left hand finder for Fed 2?

Does anyone use a "left hand" turret finder on a Fed 2 (one with the shoe on the left side)? Does it make access to the shutter speed dial difficult or impossible? It seems the left versions are a bit more common that the others.

If you mean the original Zeiss design for the Contax, then yes, it will block access to the shutter speed dial of the FED-2.

...if you've one of the LATER FED-2 with raised shoes, the "left-handed"
turret should work. I've seen one and it cleared the speed dial on a FED-2.

No such luck, mine is a Fed 2c. As of late, a few original Zeiss finders have popped up on the auction site for much less than the KMZ versions.

You may be better off with an Imarect or Imarect copy (Walz, etc). Their rear eyepieces don't protrude. And likely to show the proper view with a FED-2 (and FED-1) than the KMZ Turret finder. There is good reason to think that the Turret is calibrated for the 'taller' Kiev-4, Zorki 4/4K, and FED 3/4/5 - if you look at these cameras, their shoe to lens heights are almost the same.

The Imarects and copies sell for less than the KMZ turrets too.
