Hi EVeryone,

I was in a friendly discussion with an aquantance between the differencces between the Leica's SHOOC 13.5cm finder and their SHOOC 135mm finder. Externally the obvious differences are of course the writing of 13.5cm vs 135mm but is there any other differences as to the brightness of the glass, mask, maginification, construction etc.? Any info would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

I estimate a change from cm to mm was implemented by Leitz in the late '50s, and applied to lenses and viewfinders both. It's a simple matter of engraving, so I don't expect other design changes in particular. My ribbed SBOOI has a "5cm" label, while my late-era SGVOO says "90mm".

Hi Rico,

Thanks for the reply and info. I suspected that the two finders I mentioned above were probably the same but I not certain.

I also wonder if Leica had another more updated 135mm finder (of a different style) after the above two were produced. As far as I can tell, there wasn't another type.

Guess I'll see if anyone else chimes in with some other info. Thanks again!
