Leica 28 Elmarit ASPH 2016 construction query

Hi All,

I am very nearly in a position to buy a new Leica 28 Elmarit, for which I've been planning since about 2007, when I bought my 0.58 MP.

My question is whether the 2016 update 28 Elmarit has a revised construction to avoid the loose front barrel problem that the first version (and Summicron) suffered from?

I reviewed the new lenses and the fronts are a bit different with the way the hoods screw on but I'm not sure if they are different internally in the aspect you're talking about. They haven't been out long enough for these issues to start showing yet I'd assume. That being said, I love the new designs with the metal screw on hoods and you should definitely get it anyways haha
