Personally, I can't recommend the Nokton 1.4. Its focus shifting spoils the experience massively - at least for me it did.

How can you ignore the pre-asph Lux? You keep coming back to it. It's has the most easily identifiable signature of all the Leica lenses. Only the Noct comes close.
It keeps finding it's way back on my camera.

I am currently using the 35 pre ASPH lux at 1.4 and 2.8 on the M9, I like also the 35 lux ASPH at 1.4 and the 35 Summicron v4 at anything between F2-5.6. It very much depends what I'm shooting and sometime I cary all three lenses, shoot and decide later in PP. They all have different signatures to my eyes. I sold off both the Notiliux 1.0 (which i regret sometimes) and the Nokton 35/1,2 which I don't miss at all both were sold because I thought they were too bulky as I did with the 75/1.4.

the 35 'lux is a great fast, compact, 'character' lens - I like it very much. I also have a 35 BP 'chron asph... which is brilliant, but sharpness isn't always everything...

In the end, bought a 35mm/1.4 pre-asph Summilux, and I have had no regrets. This lens is an overall excellent lens. It may be a matter of tastes which of these three lenses to favor since each of these lenses is excellent. Its small size is a big plus. To have such a fast lens with such a small size is really a great thing.
