Hey all,

I have a V4 50 cron and when removing the filter today the head of the lens unscrewed as well, I tightened it back and it seems to be ok but my mind wonders. Now i know the older Leica lenses were built this way in order to use them with enlargers or somethings like that, my question is if anyone has come across this? Did you just screw it back tight? Any focus issues?

Thanks in advanced for any input and help!

I have that lens. After nearly thirty year with it I discovered it back focussed by a few centimteres. That has been fixed but the white dot position is necessarily rotated about 10 degress and there is a new white dot. So do it up, firm but never too tight. My slightly later 35mm version 4 Summicron, Made in Germany, was wobbling around on the front of my camera. The mount was loose on the back of the lens! Did up the screws firmly without using Loctite or anything, and it hasn't budged in some years now. These unsettling things happen, but they are of little consequence.

Mine does it all the time. It will go on a bellows or other accessory. Many older Leitz lenses unscrew like this, in fact most of my Canon RF lenses do it too.
