still trying to figure out why my m3 smudges the negative... 1/3rd of the way down from top. The first photo is with an M6 TTL. I think the lens is circa 1956.

As I've said before, I miss my DR. I'd keep to posting photos if still had it ... and an M body!

The DR/Rigid is perhaps the best darn lens that Leica has ever made.

Stunning photos here! Grrr....now I NEED one of these lenses. What's a good price for one with eyes and clean glass? $500? $600?

Really beautiful shots! I wonder if there is really a noticeable difference between DR cron and somewhat later versions.

I have a DR and in the past owned the current summicron (with the clip on hood)and the version before. The DR is better than the later ones for me. The rendering and transition to OOF areas is really special and colours really sing. Contrast is a little lower but thats an advantage for me, especially for scanned film.

I plan to give my M5 & DR Summicron their first roll of Kodachrome this weekend. I only hope that I am able to "do justice to the lens."

Two more...
Two more...
I don't remember the exact particulars. These were taken at fairly close focus and wide to nearly wide open, somewhere between 2.0 and 5.6. The scans from Walgreens are low res & terrible. I quit using them. The last two are crops of the second photo.
EDIT: Presented for technical purposes only. They are not in the same league with the good photos here.

Nice work Benjamin.

Thanks, Ronald. The DR 50 is a really nice fit with the R-D1. I think it is because the contrast is a tad lower than on a modern 50. I've also had good results with a tabbed Summicron.
