Hello,

I'm thinking about purchasing a 60mm Macro Elmarit-R, the version with the built in hood (3 cam).

Questions:

1. This will work on the Leicaflex Mk 1, right? I don't need to meter if that matters.

2. The sample that I am looking at is cheaper because there are no pins for the hood. I've seen the lens and the front element is deeply recessed, so I don't really need a hood, right?

3. Is there way to attach a screw-on hood?

Thanks!

If it's the model with the built-in hood, there would be no pins for the 12514 hood. Again, if it's that model, it should take 55mm screw-in filters.

The Mark 1 model should have the pins, take the 12514 hood, and the hood has a retaining ring for series 7 filters. The bezel might also be internally threaded to allow for something between 55 to 60mm filters.

If the front element is deeply recessed, it's doubtful you need a hood.

I never felt the need for the hood -the front element is further recessed than on any other lens I can think of right now.

I wasn't aware that a hood was available for the 2nd version lens. ie the one without pins on the rim. As far as flare resistance goes I've never thought it flared much at all if ever but then I'm not shooting it direct into sun.

Version 1 takes the shade listed, is internally set for series 8 filters, & 60 mm screw in filters go directly into the lens.

V2 take 55 screw in I think. Mine is the original v 1.
