I have used or owned many 85-90s; kept the 1st version Elmarit, sold the Apo Summicron ASPH. They all have their strong points. The 90 SAA is unbeatable from medium distance to infinity; not quite as good in the near range. The thin Tele Elmarit must be used with a lens hood; flares something fierce. The latest Elmarit has the increased contrast of a more modern lens. The 85 Nikon ltm is a good option if you can find one. The Konica 90 M is a fine modern lens, also if you can find one. They are all good lenses.
