I know there have been some comments in a number of threads about various of the 90mm lenses, but they have not quite clarified things in my mind. I have a 90mm Summicron f2. I believe it is the version before the ASPH version (has a cingle piece built in lenshood, that does not cover the aperture ring.) I like the performance of the lens, but it is the chrome version and seems to weight more than the camera body.

The question is whether I should sell of trade this for a different 90mm, and if so, which one. I have been told that the Summarit 90/2,5 is the smallest Leica 90mm lens. Has anyone used it? Can you compare it to the Summicron in terms of optical performance, build quality, and handling (weight, convenience)? I would also consider the 90mm/f2 APO lens, but I have the same questions about it.
Thanks very much,
David

The Summarit isnt the smallest 90 the Macro Elmar is. I have heard a number of favourable reviews of the Summarit 35mm but not a word about the 90 so I am curious to hear what users have to say about this lens as well. Its cheaper than the much slower Macro Elmar, so have sales of this lens ground to a halt?
