I bid, but it got too rich for me.

Yes, it's crazy but they often go for more than $100. IXMOO's are getting awfully expensive also. Joe

Look for an ALBON instead...
I did and lucked out!

ABLONs have been fetching high prices for a few years now. In fact, I've just 'cashed in' and sold two of mine.

$88 is a relative bargain. They've been around $140-180 lately.

And just think, if you actually do buy ALBON you'll never have to worry about pesky little infections anymore either

I got something on ebay when a non-deliberate mis-spelling turned up what I was after. Can't remember what that was.

And you often find Zorka cameras are dirt cheap. Often 99p...

PS But it often pays off to look for the other one an hour later that everyone's ignored.

Yup. That's about I paid for mine in a bout of irrational bidding. I would consider $88 a relative bargain indeed.

But why do you need one? Cut two leaders by counting sprockets and you'll know how to do it without a template.

If you load a full reel and you have 18-19 rolls to cut, they are awfully neat and quick with an X-Acto knife.

Mine was about £4:10s, 35-40 years ago.Probably an inflation-adjusted $88 today.
An M9 is only about 20% more expensive than my first house.
That's what inflation does...

Whatever
I sold an ABLON for $150 a few months back, so $88 is a bargain by comparison!

Probably cheaper than some Pokemon cards have sold for...
What's their intrinsic value?

Dirt cheap: Yes when you can sell it for 150$
Expensive as hell: Yes if your intention is to use it for cutting film (as there are a lot of other easier and cheaper solutions for this)
This is a case when it is safe to say that the high price has something to do with the Leica brand and nothing to do with usage..... OK it is never safe to say 'high price because of leica'

良かったね!
I have always wondered at the point of using them. I guess if you are comfortable, in the dark, fully extending enough film for the rolls and then cutting, it makes sense. Otherwise, it would appear to waste a good bit more film than simply using scissors.

You can get a good Taiwan copy from Mark Hama for about $15 if my memory is correct.
