The September issue of Vogue was the largest magazine issue ever published in the US. It is literally the the size of a phone book. In flipping through it I saw Leicas used as props in two ads. One was a Tiffany ad in which a model was holding a Lecia LTM model III (I think). It looked very classy. Oddly, the lens was a Nikon but I'm pretty sure most people would not notice. The second ad used a Leicaflex as a prop, can't remember what it was an ad for, but I sure remember the camera. Interesting that these classy old Leicas still carry such a glamorous and ritzy cachet. I guess that explains alot about the brand.
