Yes. It's not so much the M10 itself that's the good news, it's the M9's that'll be flooding the market now. The photographer I bought my M8 off told me he basically got his new M9 for free now after the tax deduction. Same will happen here. Assuming a median 50% income tax for most photographers, M9's will be about €3500 on the used market when they upgrade to a €7000 M10. Not bad... and I'll be happy to have one for that price.

You heard it here first: Its going to be a B&W sensor, around 16 MP, fixed lens (ala the X100).
Wow, that's interesting... the date makes me believe it. I'll be a little sad though if the M10 is announced and I want it... because I won't be able to buy one. Oh well, I should be greatful for what I already have.

The solution for the majority of the world's ills...
Hard not to want an M8/M9/M10 tho!

I think this is the wisdom quote for the day.

How amazing would it be if the M10 turns out to be the upgrade for the M7, not the M9?

Nooooooo.
I'm not ready for 8 weeks of relentless hyperventilation, I mean, speculation on this forum.

What would an upgraded M7 to M10 be exactly?
M7-P maybe possible? But you have to expect almost all newly numbered Leicas to be digital from now on and only variants or evolutions of the M7/MP for film...

The M9 will not suddenly drop in price when an M10 is launched. Don't hold your breath, it's Leica, right? They will simply position the M10 above the M9 in price.
I'm predicting LED projected framelines, emitting the frame illumination window from the front. They gave it a go with the M9 Titanium and it will likely add that modern aspect while cutting production costs.
Unfortunately, it's b*tt ugly too.

Whuahahaha!
Had an M8, sold it after five months only. Clunky shutter, filters-on, filters-off, sigh. The instant re-cocking and the fact that it was a digital camera made me want to shoot off bursts by pressing the shutter multiple times like with a DSLR. Result: shutter faults.
Current set-up is below, and a lowly Nikon D3100 for the rapid-fire bursts

IF (and that's a big IF) Leica introduces a change to the digital M lineup on May 10, I would bet money that it will be nothing more than cosmetic "window dressing". I would gladly like to be eating crow on May 11, but I have my doubts.

I think three years more time for development will result in more than 'window dressing'. I wouldn't be surprised the M10 to be hot and including state of the art additions. They really want to be the best boy of the class after all. They were far ahead when they launched the M9 and the X1. It's in their dna to be better than the others.
