I know these are made in the 35, 50, and 90 4.0.............Does anyone know if the recent models of the 90 2.0. 21mm, and 24mm chromes...( I know they are no longer made) are the latest lens configuration available?
All comments welcome.
Thanks

I favor chrome finish for vintage look. I have very few black lenses. If chrome finished camera bodies are still made, then Leica should be making also chrome finish lenses.

I think most users prefer the black lenses because of the weight difference, I certainly do and I have chrome bodies. The only two chrome lenses I have are the 24 ASPH & the 50 ASPH.

Chrome lenses I have

35 mm ASPH Summicron 2.0
21 mm ASPH Elmarit 2.8
Tri Elmar ASPH (first type) 4.0
35 mm ASPH Summilux 1.4
50 mm Summicron 2.0
50 mm Elmar 2.8 (coll)
90 mm Elmarit 2.8

I never see a Noctilux or 75 mm Summilux else than in black and made in Canada.

A friend owns a 90 mm Summicron APO ASPH 2.0 in Chrome.

I like chrome because it stays beter in time.

Whilst the chrome lenses are heavier than black, the brass construction provides a much more pleasant handling quality. I noticed this when recently comparing 35mm Summicrons - one a MkIV f/2 chrome and the other an asph f/2 black. The Mk IV felt miles better. Whilst I was pondering which way to go, they were both sold and I ended up with a Biogon!!

I have only black lenses...though one of my M camera is a chrome M3. I pick black lenses for their relative light weight, and that they are less shiny.
