Does the Leica CM zoom prefocus or not?
I am aware of that the 1st batch of Leica CM (fixed lens) did not have prefocus and later batches have prefocus, or the 1st batch that went back to Leica for the recall had the problem fixed.
Based on this fact and the fact that the Leica CM zoom came later than the CM, I assumed that Leica CM zoom all prefocus. However, I just acquired a Leica CM zoom that does not prefocus. The lens mechanism only moves into the focused position when the shutter button is fully pressed and the camera is to take a picture. Now my question is, is this the normal behaviour for all Leica CM zoom? Or there are Leica CM zoom's that prefocus properly, like the later batches of Leica CM.
I have the option to return the camera within 30 days. I would really appreciate any information on the prefocus issue, this is the deciding factor on whether I keep the camera or not.
