leica CM

Are you sure? They can't be very well repaired anymore. Because a part in it is made of a banned material. But it is a great little camera. Had one for a few years and then sold it while it still was worth something.

The only reason I sold mine was due to Leicas repair situation with the camera. Does anyone know what the mysterious part was?

Great camera, fantastic lens.

Is that something other than the mercury battery - which is easily replaced with a legal one in an adapter? I was once stupid enough to sell my first CL with all three lenses for a song after being told by a dealer that the light meter cell could not be replaced. My only excuse is that it was before the days of the Internet. My present CL is quite happy with modern batteries and the knowledge that if the light meter (or most of the rest) should go, the are very capable repair services in Europe, the USA and more than probably Japan. A wonderfully precise, unobtrusive and friendly camera which happily will mount most M and LTM lenses. Mine came from KEH. CLs also appear in the classifieds of this site from time to time. Go for one - you will not be disappointed! And if you should only find a body, the CL is very happy with the fast CV 40/1.4.
