Leica copy drought ?

Had anyone noticed that Leica-likes from good old ex-USSR seem to have dried up noticeably from Moscow Photo and DVD ?
Though Moscow is making a georgeous Zorki to match my pretend Leicas in new chrome and black - a new trend in Zorki-Fed appreciation ? Or a new market ? Only Grizzly seems to persist .
... or have the powers that be said something about messing with heritage ?

eBay is becoming too difficult to deal with the nuts, the people who charge back PayPal and the whiners for sellers to risk making small amounts of money selling the stuff.

Yes, eBay wants to become a venue for new goods at fixed prices sold by large sellers (who receive favored treatment). This is their stated policy. They also say they want to move away from the auction "model" (which of course is what made eBay). eBay's CEO persists with these bone-headed notions, even when they have lead to a steady decline in profit. This is what happens when Wall Street suits take over an on-line flea market.

I am not sure that it is an e-bay thing - Moscow photo has switched to stunning as new Zorki specials instead of Leica -likes including new polished chrome .
Maybe we are more prepared to pay for proudly ex-USSR cameras- and they save on engraving costs .
I like my Leica - likes , but this has got to be a good development .

I shop all over Europe, I've noticed that in France they've started a new "free classifieds" section.

Yes, if eBay persists, someone will come along and eat their market share. It's just a matter of time. If they keep moving away from online auctions, someone really will just start a decent site and take that away. Too bad Yahoo couldn't hold out for a few more years with their site...

Hmmm, I can see the logic with some of those large firms. The goose lays a golden egg. So they celebrate with a bottle of Claret - now they can afford one - and decide on roast goose for dinner. After all they can afford it...

Seriously, I was a Civil Servent and they decided to sell us off. Immediately a lot of people with the gift of the gab and no ideas beyond tomorrow (when the sun would still be shining) got on. I've since concluded that those that have charm and talk well, seldom think well. Apart from long terms plans for their golden future.
