Well I was quite bored at work today so I scanned the brochure I've got with my IIIc.
The camera, the lenses and the brochure were part of WW II spoils that an US Army Vet brought back to the states and then the camera found its way back to Europe and now to me.

The brochure has some interesting imagery and is in german but i thought some of you might be interested in seeing and browsing through it. 😉

Just noticed that the vendor of the camera this brochure came with was located in "Adolf Hitler Strasse 247".

interesting piece of history, thx for sharing.

there is some text (cant read German) about Himalaya expedition, that made me remember movie 7 Years in Tibet.

I've seen that , I am still trying to find out what is the current name of that street and if a photo shop still exists at that address. I travel to Germany almost monthly and it would be cool to have an excuse to visit Freiburg and a new photo shop 😀

No problem, I have some other brochures from Contax and Leica from the same period i hope to pick up from grandparents house, clean and scan.
If i get some free time I'll try and translate the brochure.

How did they do that indoor gymnastic shot ?

I presume it was pre-focused with exposure of 1/60 on a Summar or Elmar (at f2 or f3.5) ? I have difficulty doing that even with a fast film....

Thanks for posting!

According to http://einestages.spiegel.de/static...r_strasse_in_freiburg.html?s=2&r=1&a=2869&c=1 it's now Kaiser-Josef-Straße. No Google Streetview there though!

360cities has a pano view of the street... Unfortunately there are no buildings from that era except 2 at the southern(?!) end of the street and I can't see any photo shops in them 🙁. But after getting to read about Freiburg I think I'll go there no matter if i manage to find out the real street and if the photo place is still in business or not...
