The sales blurb is a bit dodgy - Leica recall? there never was a Leica recall. I think it has been used more and has had 200 actuations after a replacement of a failed sensor. The price is a typycal e-bay occurence - too high because probably two persons got carried away.

The reason I posted this is because it may help dispel some myths about the future value of the current M digitals.
It seems everyone is concerned that they are losing value big time.
What we have to remember is that Leica are not a volume manufacturer like Nikon or Cannon.
I believe a Leica in good condition regardless of the technology will always be worth something.
What would a comparable 7 year old Nikon or Cannon be worth now?
Don't get me wrong... I've always loved the Nikon products and have owned several over the years.
But I don't have any experience with Cannon.

Someone paid way too much for an antique digital camera. Happens all the time on eBay. The Digilux 2 is old news now. The myth of the Leica strikes again.

The going rate for an D2 is about 750 Euro, say 1000$ right now, and rising. The panasonic twin about 400 Euro - doesn't make sense, but there it is...

I sold mine for $650 and it took me like 5 months to find someone who wanted it...

I enjoyed my Digilux2 while it was around at $500.
But I sold it when it reached the good price mark... yeah, this calls a good short investment.
I still have some left over such as remote release and Leica Macro filter.
