Isn't there a camera person in Japan who converts lenses to RF lenses; could he convert the Vario Summicron to M 4/3 mount and keep the lens fully functional?

Throw it on something like an Oly EM5, I can imagine it would be interesting to say the least.

If you weren't stateside and already in possession I have one I'd have let go for a fair price.

I don't know the answer to your question. Why wouldn't the sensor be inside the camera instead?

The LC1 lens was made up for the much smaller 2/3 sensor. I seriously doubt it can cover 4/3 sensor.

I wanted to remove the lens and re-use it-my ambition exceeds my ability and enquiries proved so. I asked on another forum but was put right. I'll try to dig up the bones if I can.

the lens on the digilux 2 is permanently affixed and is not really functional on others -- the digilux 3 is brilliant -- some bloody awesome lenses --- they're slow on the af -- but they are gorgeous

also, i've used it for street quite a bit --- it's deadly silent --- tvo uses my image of an xrayed digilux 2 on his site ---

it works plenty fast

japancamerahunter has modified lenses from fixed lens cameras into RF lenses. Maybe he can do the magic if the Vario Summicron is wide enough physically to allow M 4/3.
