Leica Digilux 2

Leica called it an SLR as did every review out there . but I understand that you know more than they do...

It's an slr and there's really no way around it...

Um, I've just found and read brochure 91172, of 2003, called "Leica Digilux 2 The 'analogue' digital camera" and can't see it called a SLR. And, further on, it says "The high-resolution electronic viewfinder was chosen over an optical viewfinder... "

Perhaps you were thinking of the Digilux 3 which has interchangeable lenses and a mirror/prism etc to make it a SLR?

Since I am also in love with my D2--and it's Panny cousin, the LC-1--I guess I'll have to jump in here for a minute. The camera is not perfect--but then, none are--but it is still very special and capable of producing stunning images under the right conditions. It's the one camera I own which I am content to shoot only in high quality jpeg mode. I use it mostly for B&W and it does a superb job. A couple of my favourite shots...
