Leica digital M and flash with cord

Use a Nikon SB-17 TTL (no TTL of course) cord, I use it all the time with the Leica SF20 flash or even the Nikon flashes.

Why not buy a set of cheap wireless triggers instead of a cable?

At least they offer the ability to do some more advanced off-camera flash, should you desire.

There are a couple of options. First, pretty much any cord with a center pin will work; there's no need to have the others, but it won't hurt anything if it's there. I use a Sunpak 544 handle-mount flash. Neither the M8 nor the M9 have pc sync outlets, so if you use a pc cord you'll need a flash-shoe adapter with a pc outlet. Leica claims that there are no issues triggering a flash with up to 600v with the M8 and M9, but other digital cameras are more sensitive at 6v max. I'd suggest a safe-sync flash shoe gizmo like this or this just to be on the safe side. I have a Wein model on my Norman studio flash setup, and I bought to of the $8, one to have in each of my camera bags.

If you want just the off-camera cord, probably a Canon cord (or clone) would be the best buy since it has terminals in all the positions and can pretty much be used with any flash down the road.
