Leica Event, May 10 Starts....

Oh boy.. $8,000 USD - but they're claiming up to ISO 10,000 and they're giving you Silver Efex Pro 2 as well as Lightroom...

I don't know if that's worth it imho but I'm sure it'll have a lot folks oohing and ahhing over it :)

Cheers,
Dave

Very true.
Also interesting, this ability to switch between various tones, including sepia, selenium, cool. Obviously none of this will appeal to the traditional film users.

The Leica M Monochrom features the following:
Newly developed monochrome CCD sensor with a native resolution of 18 million pixels
100% sharper imaging thanks to direct processing of raw data with no interpolation
Extremely low, fine-grain image noise up to ISO 10,000
Raw data histogram and parameter clipping warning
Various tones programmable
Top cover and bottom plate in black chrome finish
New leatherette body covering
All-cowhide carrying strap
Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 software supplied in addition to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom
Exclusive access to the Leica Monochrom Print Service in cooperation with Whitewall
Original fiber barite print of a Magnum photo from the Leica M Monochrom campaign by
J.A. Sobol supplied

Don't ask where I got this from - I'd have to kill you if I told you :D

Cheers,
Dave

mmmmm black chrome...

all it needs is the collapsible 50mm fresh from servicing and it would be the perfect companion to take along for a roadtrip across the country.

I'm *LOL*'ing at the price of that new summicron - 50mm and it's only $7195 USD *LOL*

oh leica. you're crazy, but we love you anyways.

awww man, you know what that cron asph price is going to do to the prices of any 50mm lens in M-Mount, new and used? goodbye all reason.

Yeah, a cron that goes for seven grands.

They finally made it, boldly went where no man had gone before, beyond the realm of sanity..

M9-M at $8k, pricey of course, but the same price as the M9P so I guess it's not completely out of bounds.

50/2 APO ASPH for $7200? No comment.

X2?? Why would anyone possibly be interested in this camera for $2k or $2600 with an EVF?

Hello, X-Pro1, or x100.
