Hmm....I don't think the customers that will be buying the new Leica products are that naive. All of them will take a hard look at the product and its qualities before shelling out considerable amounts of money. I do have a feeling that those complaining "not made in Germany` are not in the market for new Leica gear anyway. See the succes of the Digilux2 which seems to outsell the Panasonic, despite coming from the same assembly-line and clearly marked "made in Japan". Btw I feel the lens IS slightly different, it has a different text on it and the coating looked quite different when I compared mine to my brother's Panasonic

Jaap,
You are definitely right about the "considerable amounts of money" that will be paid for the new Leica equipment. However, I would note that a large number of DMR's were pre-ordered by customers before they had a chance to "take a hard look at the product and its qualities". I don't think they were being naive. They just made the assumption that what they were buying would be of traditional Leica quality - and if it wasn't they could return it.
You mention Epson - do you mean Panasonic? The Epson RD-1 isn't sold with a lens.

Let me know when you hear that Leica is taking pre-orders for the digital M. I will join you and place an order for one.
