Leica Glass. Depreciating in Value?

I don't get it: mirrorless cameras can sport ANY lens via the right adapter, and most, not being full frame, would use the soft spot of the lens.
Why would I pay tons of money to get a leica lens when an orphan system SLR lens can do the job?

Many people think that Leica produces the best lenses ever. Personally my 35 Cron is miles ahead of my Nikon 35/2 AFD and it shows in the pics.

Personally, I think Dallmeyer, Angenieux, and even CC Harrison made the best lenses ever. A lot of optical scientists agree.

I don't know that Nikon lens, but I bet there are plenty of Japanese 35mms lenses that are as good as the summicron, on a mirrorless digital. The only proof is with a side by side comparison. I just compared a common Pen-F 38/1.8 to the vaunted Canon 35/2 and the Olympus was better, on a Fuji seonsor. Yet - any lens can take great photos.

Not that I have seen - take a look at Camera West, B&H and other used Leica M listings. R lenses do seem to be available at bargian prices, though (at least on some websites).

JMHO, but if a used Leica M lens does not fetch a premium price in the RFF classified ads, I would not attribute it to Leica M lenses depreciating in value.
I would attribute it to tightwad lens shoppers. 🙄

um, yes. When I'm a seller (like now), I agree. When I'm a buyer, I'm pretty much a seeker of bargains.

Now, as I say that, many of my bargains were found on RFF, as people here do work with realistic prices.

maybe those who buy Leica's don't read RFF and are unaware about the truth spread in here? 🙄
