[According to Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, majority shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Leica Camera AG, ‘Entrepreneurship means assuming responsibility and creating value. Short-term revenue records and profits alone cannot generate enduring values. What is essential is a high degree of willingness to innovate and invest in technologies, social commitment and the will to change.]
I guess this aspect of business has been gotten rid of completely in most of today's companies, particularly after an IPO. They do everything to meet analyst's expectation with the next Q's numbers. I wonder when a company will start to publish monthly results, someone's got to be first :bang:.

A focus on short term profits usually leads to a company with a short term life. Unless of course the government is willing to bail it out.

I guess Leica/Kaufmann is a rare constellation ... good for us though.
Otherwise they had been down the drain already a couple of years back.

I am actually a FB friend with Kaufmann. He shoots BW film with a M6 and says: If I could decide, I would say leica makes only film cameras, but I guess our family ( that owns leica for the bigger part) would fire me within a year..
