Never mind drugs. The day you buy a Leica is the day your rent goes unpaid,is the day you hide your purchases from your partner,is the day you look around your house for things to sell on Ebay.
Why can't Leica just make one lense, and why can't everyone keep quiet and not remind me how good everything is.......Damn this forum!!!!! 😉

My name is UlyssesCat and I am a Leica addict.

Seriously though: It is addictive.
I will make a family portrait as soon as the Ultron arrives.
'Grandmother' IIf with inlaw-sons CLE and Hexar and nephew Bessa T plus the bunch of lenses.
And distant cousin Minolta XD. Doppelganger of the Leica R something.

But, at least the Leica glass is permanent. Nothing like the uncoated glass or the '50s glass will ever be made again. So they are all user-collectibles.

Could you please not post things like this. If my wife sees this post she may get more suspicious than she already is. She's already put post-its on the bottom of things I'm forbidden to sell on ebay. 🙁

...sell stuf on ebay, no kidding. I saw a (relativly) good deal on a demo MP, and have been thinking about what I could put on ebay, not so much to fund the purchace, but to show my wife that I am willing to thin out the cameras I have, before buying a new one.

Sadly, there is not much I want to part with... some pentax stuff... what else, what else can i sell...

I too am an addict.... what can I say.. i started of f rangefinders with the russian stuff. Then I really started doing the German stuff... Now .. I am still looking for a good score when I can get it.... It's sad... You have to watch your self, if you start getting into the new 75's and stuff ,, you might find yourself in truck stop parking lot selling your ass for Leica lens money....... Please be careful ! Seek counseling... Don't let it get out of control....

Boy, with my GAS attacks as bad as they are, and my tendency to spend anything I earn, I'm glad the RF645 only takes 3 lenses and I have 2 of them.

If I had a Leica to feed . . . I'd just have to sell my car.

You know, they pay well for organs over in Asia. . . .A kidney is worth at least enough for a great Leica kit. Kidding. Very very kidding.

I know my camera soul belongs to the dark side. Counseling? My stockist gives me counseling... about which lenses I still do not have. Every once in a while I get the need for the 75 lux. mmmmm, the precious.

Best thing against Leica GAS or addiction: take the wife and kid out for long walks. Spend much more time with them. That way you won't have time to buy anything on eBay. Instead you can shoot what you already have. It's what I do, and it works. Plus, my wife is happy. 🙂

You guys don't have it so bad. You're just hooked on Leica.

I see a camera that I don't have and it's:

We are Borg. Your Distinctive Qualities will be added to the Collection. Resistance is futile.
You will be CLA'd and outfitted with a fitted case.
If you take interchangeable lenses, we will search throughout this galaxy to find them.

Nikon, Leica, Canon, Retina, Voigtlander, Konica, Minolta,...

...and I thought i was alone 🙂 Remember, these are liquid assets and we can sell at any time and make most if not more than our initial investment. This is the explanation I have ready when the wife busts me 🙂

I must be truly fortunate. My wife doesn't care what I buy as long as more pictures of the kids show up around the house.........
......uh, and they're in color, brightly lit, facing the camera, and smiling.........
.....OK. So I make small compromises. 🙂

Don't have a wife, rather a live-in girlfriend. That part is nice. But as most of us have learned in human relationships, rarely is there a free lunch. She is amazingly frugal with money, which engenders an uncanny ability to interrogate me about my camera/lens sales and purchases until the smoke and mirrors are penetrated, the camoflage unravels, and the truth emerges.

Recently, I developed what seems to be an emergent defense. Lots of tech talk, lots of "I'm aquiring stuff of great historical value - way better investments than those lousy mutual funds," and more obfustcating tech talk.

The only aquisition that ever impressed her was the mint Rolleiflex 2.8E. She gazed upon it for a fulll minute, then said, "it is a work of art," and left the room.

Safe for now...
