In the last 6 months , I went a little [ ? ] crazee, having found SOMETHING in an unreal world that hands and eyes seem to combine to make ''real '' for me ...

I took my Kiev 4m out to try it out - I think acclimatisation will take a while , but it's a neat camera to use ...

However , time and again it is the original Leica , on which the Fed / Zorki 1 , and my ''Leica pretenders '' are modelled that works for me , is right for me .

Thanks to Russian ingenuity and imagination , funds permitting , I can aquire many fanciful variations on a theme that are a far cry from my pair of deelightfull black and nickel Leica IIs !

the Zorki 4 and 6 leave me indeeferent ... they seem souless somehow , the Kievs have a vintage charm , and seem more like the German originals in some ways than the Fed / Zorkis .

The Fed 2s slip under the radar - I like them a lot in their original '' greyish chrome '' , but they are a fair bit more less - delicate - somehow ?

And the Zorki S and 2 S - ugly sisters of the delicate ones ?

Well I have three '' Mika mouse Olympic revisited toy ones '' , and the avatar one is expected to return shortly .

I also have a Z S and Z 2S , unmolested , and in near mint , cleaned / refurbed condition coming ... so I guess I kinda sympathise / empathise with them !

i do have a new J8 in black + I61 ld , But I love the '' Elmar '' collapsible clones for their neatness and portability , though using they do tend to demand aperture priority useage !

That is indeesputable Xmas - as I said totally. aperture priority - with real headache to alter .. but so neat !
.. but on par with most other lenses of the period - if we choose to use vintage style equipment , then I guess that's part of the fascination - and the J8 wits in my pocket !
