Beautiful shot, Colyn. Did you pick it up at the Grapevine Camera Show?

I wanted to go, but unfortunately, I had lots of weekend work going on and had to miss it.

There seemed to be a better turnout (speaking of vendors and merchandise mainly) at the September show than I had seen before. Was there lots of good stuff last weekend? You have a knack for finding it.

Yes along with a 35mm f/2.8 J-12 and pre-war finder.

You missed a good show. Even though some vendors couldn't make it because of the weather it was still good.

The Sept show had more but I think there were more lookers/buyers at this show..

Hmmm. I've always liked the Elmar and the results, especially with b&w. I'd love to have a IIIF with this lens, but since I'm unlikely to afford both an LTM and M body, an M is more flexible for me. So ...

Aside from having this lens with adapter, are any of the M mount Elmars of the exact same design? Or should I just get an LTM Elmar? And if so, what generation/version/SN range?

I'm not up on the optical changes so I can't answer your question. But I suspect there probably is a difference between the M version and the pre-war screw mount version..

Mine dates from 1934..

Earl, I've read that there is a red-scale Elmar 50 f3.5 that is the last batch of the ltm version. Then there is a late M mount version of the 50mm f3.5 Elmar. Both of these Elmar versions are expensive though. I've got an early uncoated version.
