Found one for sale on craigslist. To far from home to go look at. Add reads needs repair $100. Pictures show it to be very clean, comes with a summar 5.0cm f2 and never ready case. Lady said it was given to her several years ago and she sent it to leica to have it evaluated. They came back with what sounds like a cla plus repair rewind and release mechanism. Does this sound good or should I walk awAy?

Having been recently burned on a long distance CL deal, and not being able to find the ad you mention for the last 10 minutes through a wide variety of CL searches (and I'm still looking), I would advise caution and think it is possibly a scam.
IF it is real and in good shape, I would be all over it for $100.

It's still listed. What am I looking at as a ruff guess to fix it from what I've told you. Yes $100 isn't a lot bit it is for me. Would love to have an old screw mount.

That's the risk you take by letting a possible good deal public to the hordes of rangefinder hungry people on this site.
Trust your first instinct and go for it!

haha, yep, i read the OP post just after it came up and really wanted to reply that he/she should remove it - still, one of lifes little lessons learnt i quess.
Look, if you are going to buy something, anything the method is
research - search - buy with no regrets.
Getting the opinions from the multitudes just muddies the process and slows it down.
But then i can never understand the " should i buy this -should i buy
that " question

Im probably better off not buying it. Money starts getting tight around the end of May (don't work during the summer). A cnote isn't much money but it might take a while for me to afford to fix it.
