Not sure if this is the place to ask, but the local camera store has a nice IIIF conversion, seems to be in great shape (owner says the focus is a bit off, I dunno) and it has a Summitar collapsible lens (not bad but not excellent). He said the numbers check out. I need to know what other things to look for as well.

Any idea what this combination is worth?😕

The camera in fully working condition is worth $200-270 say. The lens in good shape is worth $180-250 or so. I'd not buy either one in poor condition unless you can get an exceptional deal after figuring in at least $170 for repairing the body and say $75 for fixing the lens (if it is fixable, and many lenses are not due to scratches or glass separation). You should be able to find a fully working Leica IIIc or IIIf + Summitar (or Elmar) lens for $400-500 with some patience (they come up for sale here frequently). Good luck in your search.
