Hi

Just back fom a trip in Istanbul and the first films are out from the soup...

I have a few problems concerning the images from my IIIc:

1- from time to time, it sticks two frames together, then leaves a wider spacing between the two next. very ennoying.

2- the images are very low on the film, which means that the film stayed too low in the camera.

3- from time to time, very seldom, there is a light leak on the higher area of the image (lower area of the camera). Very strange as the socket loading seems pretty leak proof and the camera was in a ER case...

Do any of you encounter such problems and have an idea how to solve them??
I CLA'd the camera myself a while ago...

Thanks

Michael

Michael - it sounds like your film was not completely engaged on the sprockets. Check out Stephen Gandy's loading instructions on the screw mounts (scroll down to "Peculiarities"). If you don't take off the lens and hold the shutter open (T or B setting) you can't be sure that the film is actually centered in the rails. If you get it wrong enough, you can actually tear the film.

Thanks John

I actually use the preliminary film leader cutting technique.
After the leader is long enough, I simply introduce the film casette + take up spool in the camera. No problems so far with this method. Unless....
