Hellow everybody: this is my first post writing from Argentina. Few days ago I buyed a IIIc SN 505668 with Summitar 5cm f2 very clear. Had shot 36 but are still developing.
I fouund that the shutter doesnt release at 30-1 till I took off the finger from the trigger. Just if it were stucked in B. All slow speeds seems to be OK.
My question: what should I check?
Thanks for your help.
Carlos

PD: by the way, how to post a photo here?

Welcome to the forum, Carlos.

Your camera most probably needs a CLA.

The slow shutter speed escapement mechanism (aka slow speed governor) gets gummed up and sluggish to non working on these.
Send the camera out to a known good camera tech or try doing the fix your self if you have the skills and are confident and willing to do your homework before hand.

Here is a video of the great Knobbysparrow working on a similar Leica IIIf to help you out if you decide to tackle the job yourself.

Hi: thanks xayraa33 for your response. Tha fact is that I put my hands on IIIc and found the former "tecnician" left the wright bafle bend against the second curtain roll. Now after some tiny drops of oil and rectified position all goes OK. I used as a guide the didactic youtube help of Mr. nobbysparrow, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziAFgEsdl0Q.
A new roll 35mm is waiting for test my job!
Bye
