Hello
Here are some shots from my "new" IIIf that I got back from Youxin Ye after service and new curtain, he did a great job.

It has the 50mm Summitar 2.0
The film is Delta 100 developed in HC110 dil. B 6mins.

I have posted some of these in other places so you may have already seen them

Very nice results. Love the signature of the Summitar.

Youxin does nice work. He also serviced my IIIf's, Summitar, and Collapsible 'Cron.

Nice. Not overly sharp (and from a scan, who knows?), and nifty IQ. I was looking at some negs I took w/ Delta 100 many years ago and it's a really good film. At the time all I shot was Tri-X, so the Delta did not cut it, but now I see it's charm. The IIIf is a wonderful little camera.

Don,

your selection of photos
(i) are very well composed as stated above
(ii) show the awesome signature of the 50mm Summitar
(iii) remind me why I love B & W photography

thanks for sharing them.

David

Nice photos. You should keep this thread going. Post photos from a new roll as you develop them. The IIIf is a gem of a camera.

Very nice, Don! A IIIf with 50/3.5 Elmar and 35/3.5 Summaron is my favorite compact outfit. I found the Summaron a useful addition. Tiny lens, similar to the Elmar in IQ.

I had a IIIf reworked by Youxin, new shutter curtains, rangefinder mirror and CLA.

He did a great job, terrific service and reasonably priced.

Nice photographs.

Thanks for showing them here.

Hello GB, Summar and Bill

Thanks

I will post more as I take them, I really like the results of this first roll.

I have two other cameras loaded right now so as soon as those are done I will load up some XP2 that I am going to try developing with HC110.

Here is another

I just got my IIIf back from YY as well — new beamsplitter, curtain replacement, CLA (it needed it!). Fast turnaround, great service & communication. I recommend him highly!

45govt, you've got some beautiful tones in those images. Did you use a green filter on the trees? The foliage is quite bright!

Thank you for the comments

seezee, I used a yellow filter on these

Ranchu, I thought the reason for a Leica was tack sharp photos, am I wrong? While mine are not the best I am very happy with the camera and the photos.

Sharp and sharpened are different things, even though they sound the same. Oversharpening is obvious, and sharpening was rarely done at all until digital, when it became necessary. I see no reason you should be anything but happy with your camera, your lens, and your photos. I just think they're oversharpened, which means I think they'd look even better than they do now, with less sharpening added to them.

I guess you are speaking of software "sharpening."
With all the different films, filters, and developing strategies, I find it difficult to identify post-scanning software manipulation, other than the obvious.
