Hi folks,
in yesterdays (10/11/06) NY Times programme for the literature event “Great Read In The Park” there was mention of Leica as a sponsor and there will be a LEICA Camera Tent at the 42nd St side of the park.
It's Bryant Park betwenn 5th & 6th Ave and 40th & 42nd St. in NYC
on Sun. Oct. 15th, 2006. 9am to 6pm.
Just assuming that they might want to show their latest stuff [M8 ?] in the Big Apple
.
I’ll be there to check it out unless it poors USB cables and SD cards or was it still cats and dogs - whatever...
BTW[1] I just grabbed the latest issue of LFI magazine from my local camera store and the article on the M8 is just the usual stuff. Not the final firmware, not allowed to publish any pictures taken WITH M8 – just OF the M8
. Generally quite positive e.g. certain lens characteristics like bokeh of 1.4/75 or sharpness of 2/90 asph transfer well into digital. But the LFI might no be the most independend source I guess…
BTW[2] Once I got my scanner working, i.e. make myself familiar how to use it to get a presentable result, I’ll post some pics as a newbe to this forum to show what make me (aeeeh my M) click – how do you translate the analog M 'click' into writing ???

Hi Jaap,
yeah you're right. Allthough the paragraph "in the field" states that no pictures are to be published etc. the illustrating pictures in the article are supposedly taken with a M8 and a 2.8/21asph. Sorry I missed the intro stating that.
