Leica Kravitz Special Edition with Brassing?

Kind of like pre-washed jeans. I always thought that was a form of cheating. But really no biggie to me.

We're clearly NOT the intended market for this camera body. I'd leave it be... It's like the titanium M9, which, for the handy sum of some 25K, included the visit of a Leica representative to explain the happy, lucky buyer, how to use the camera... :)

Nagging concern... how do they brass the camera? I want to know because I'd like to have my M2 painted black, and then get the brassing "the right way"... and pass it as the LK edition! ;)

My MM does have some natural brassing, also the thumbs up ...;) it never occured to me to help it with some sandpaper but then I am not the target for a special edition either ...

What's up next ? Pre-dented, bullet shot, truck rolled over ...:D

I don't see what the big deal is with all the hate. LK's fans may not have heard of Leica but may just buy one because of the affiliation.

This new pre-brassed camera and lens says a lot about Leica's marketing program and today's Leica customers.

Today's Leica company all about the Bling and the Benjamins.
Damn, I never would have believed it, but times and companies change.

Oddly enough, it seems to be working out for Leica sales.

I wonder if this special edition will include pre used cards full of Kravitz images?

As a company Leica is first and foremost about profit.
I think they are extremely successful in putting themselves in a position to afford marketing experimentation like these.

As a business owner (who knows how hard it is to achieve such a loyal following), I admire them a lot.

I'm not interested in buying a pre-brassed Leica Lenny K special edition any more than a twisted, mangled, blood-spattered Porsche James Dean special edition, but if that sort of thing floats someone's boat and bolsters the company's bottom line I really don't feel indignant about it.

The brassing against that shiny paint looks strange. There should be a patina to the paint to go along with the brassing. Frankenstein if you ask me.
