Well-known
i am still autistically struggling with the perceived chasm twixt my inheritance fuelled once in a lifetime , M 8 and real world Kiev 4m and other USSR compromised Zorki / Fed dee-lights . [ Unlike my twin Leica II and twin IIIc which are just too perfect / sterile copies ! ]
They are i guess , worlds apart , yet switching from '' emma '' the M 8 to the others is seemless ... unlike any digital camera or DSLR [ apart from my Dig 3 of course ]
Other than the return to film , i do not feel that anything is missing with my comparitively primitive Russian rejects ... even the return to either the built in meter , or my hand held meter , is as easy as the all auto etc M 8 .
Even my much more established Minoltas have never been this '' connected / real '' , yet somehow , I feel that the M 8 even having a very separate space in this forum , kind of '' should '' be in another , maybe more rareified world ...
I know - to me , it's just an extravagantly expensive , more up to date , conveniently digital -
MORE OF THE SAME !
.. it's simply the idea of the Leica M 8 and it's associations / expectations which clouds the obvious ...
it's a digital Zorki / Fed updated copy !
Dee-mented !
